49 Songs Fight For Oscar Nomination [Oscar Watch]

Today the Academy revealed the 49 songs eligible to win an Oscar this year. On January 6th, the music branch of the academy (compiled of composers & musicians who have made an impact on the film industry or previously been nominated for Oscars themselves), will meet and listen to three minutes from each song, then nominate their favorites. Those who can't attend will receive a dvd of all the snippets. And this year, for the first time, only two songs max from one film may be nominated. Sorry, High School Musical 3.

The complete list of eligible songs after the jump with my favorites (from what I've heard) in red...and actually I've only heard like ten, so take my opinion with a grain of salt

m gonna have to nix Another Way to Die. Jack White's part is fantastic, the play on the Bond theme is good, but overall, no matter how fucking... sexybadassrockness the lyrics are, it's kind of awkward. Especially Alicia Keys' role.
