When Soaps Meet Geek?

Was doing my late night soap tweet thang last night (don't act like you don't LIKE IT) when a new ad popped up for John McBain, Llanview's resident hard boiled detective. Llanview is the fake town in One Life To Live, btw. In case you were wondering. which you probably weren't.

Anyway, the ad has a very Sin City vibe to it, and even though it's totally ridiculous (okay, pretty damn ridiculous), it's also kind of neat and, in my mind, worth posting. When soaps start imitating comic book noir, I'm totally on board.

In researching the internets to find this clip, I also discovered that Michael Easton, the dude who plays John McBain (and also played vampire-in-love-with-a-human Caleb on Port Charles like SEVEN years ago, Twilight) is a fantasy novel AND graphic novel writer. Baaazuhhh???

Check it out - his Fantasy Novel series, Soul Stealer and his upcoming Graphic Novel, The Green Woman.

How totally random. See full post

Lost Actors In Their Soap Days [Jeff Fahey Was ATTRACTIVE Alert]

Okay, so because I've gotten back into Soaps recently (don't you judge me) I decided to subscribe to Soap Opera Digest again cause it's like 15 bucks for 52 issues or something ungodly like that. And *already* it's worth it, because this week, SOD featured two pages worth of Lost actors on SOAPS. Meaning, a photo of Jeff Fahey being attractive and Nathan Fillion being a tiny person. Scans below so you can see for yourself.

"Someone Actually Said That" Soap Line of the Day!

Courtesy of Todd Manning on Thursday's One Life To Live (which is on fire with the ridiculous lines lately)

"That's awesome. You wanna have sex?"

"Someone Actually Said That" Soap Line Of The Day!

Courtesy of the character Roxy on yesterday's One Life to Live:

"That's not a thermometer, is it? That's a home pregnancy test."

Made even better if we recall the line Roxy said directly before this:

"You dropped your thermometer. Eyooo, it's still wet."

Don't believe me?

New Moon Has Me Laughing Out Loud Already [Poster]

Literally. Just saw this poster on Aint it Cool and LAUGHED OUT LOUD. This movie is gonna be awesome, guys. Awesome in that it could potentially be worse than Twilight. I mean, LOOK AT THIS THING. Click to enlarge for the full effect.

It looks like daytime television. It looks like a pose that would appear on the cover of Soap Opera Digest. I know this because I've been on and off watching soaps for 11 years (I was bored during winter break one year in middle school...so sue me) and subscribed to SOD for a brief period of time. That might as well be Carrie, Austin & Mike from Days of our Lives circa 1999. I mean, COME ON. And Edward's white white skin makes me laugh on its own. Cause it's just so white. And sometimes, it sparkles!

Listen, I'm seeing this movie opening weekend. I'm just not expecting it to be any good.
