Florida, Las Vegas, Austin, Dallas, San Diego, Phoenix, Southeastern, San Francisco, Toronto, Chicago, Detroit, St. Louis, International Press Academy, New York Online Film Critics, Boston, LA, DC, NBR & Entertainment Weekly

Excuse the funny numbers - there were tons of ties and omitted categories by each group, so don't expect anything to add up.

If Sweden submitted Let The Right One In like it should have, dare I say it would be a lock as well.

Top Ten from AP's critics

David Germain

1. Happy Go Lucky
2. Wall-E
3. Encounters at the End of the World
4. Slumdog Millionaire
5. Frozen River
6. The Visitor
7. The Wrestler
8. Frost/Nixon
9 . The Dark Knight
10. Wendy & Lucy

Christy Lemire

1. The Wrestler
2. Frost/Nixon
3. Man on Wire
4. Waltz with Bashir
5. Wall-E
6. Benjamin Button
7. Frozen River
8. Milk
9. Paranoid Park
10. Iron Man

No Slumdog Millionaire on Lemire's list! I liked the movie a lot, I really did, but I don't think it's the best picture of the year and it's nice to see someone agree with me. Granted, The Dark Knight is also off her list, but Iron Man is, so it's all good.

Which two films do all three lists have in common? Wall-E & The Wrestler, neither of which have been pegged as locks for a Best Pic nod come Oscar time. But it's beginning to look more and more like these two may sneak in at the end, edging out fare like Frost/Nixon, The Dark Knight & possibly Milk, if the Golden Globes are any indication.

More best of 2008 lists to be posted as they come in. LQ loves herself some Oscar watch.
